Social Policies Office
The Social Policies Office monitors and evaluates the existing services and policies of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and develops social policy proposals to meet emerging social needs in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Strategic Plan of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM). It offers suggestions that support the establishment of a rights-based approach in all services and policies of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
In the light of national and international approaches to changing social policy areas in line with the researches conducted, new models are piloted, measured, and disseminated in the light of the assessments made.
Data-Based Decision Support System
Based on the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality data, the Istanbul status map is linked spatially with the IMM functions to create a road map for modeling new investments and services.
Monitoring, Assessment and Impact Measurement
The IMM policies and services developed to meet the needs of the target audience are measured according to the criteria of accessibility, inclusiveness, awareness, and efficiency; areas to be improved are identified to meet the needs, and suggestions for improvement are presented and reported.
In cooperation with civil society and academia, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality designs workshops on developing policies and services in the light of the criteria of equality, inclusiveness, accessibility taking into account their status concerning language, religion, age, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, refugeeship, etc.
